Dunhill’s Creative Director Simon Holloway champions traditional menswear with what he calls “invisible innovation”—a design philosophy that preserves time-honored craftsmanship through subtle, understated modifications rather than dramatic overhauls. In this season’s collection, Holloway’s approach to sustainable, traditional menswear is on full display, positioning Dunhill as a leader in British style innovation.
Drawing deeply from the archives of British fashion, Holloway revisits the iconic 1930s English Drape—a softer shoulder design perfected by the Duke of Windsor’s Dutch-born Savile Row tailor, Frederick Scholte. This nod to classic British style not only reinforces Dunhill’s heritage but also creates a compelling dialogue between past and present, a key element in today’s luxury menswear market.
The collection boasts an impressive array of double-breasted overcoats, luxurious knitwear, and impeccably tailored suits crafted from sustainably produced and sourced fabrics. These high-quality garments embody the brand’s commitment to sustainability while delivering refined aesthetics that appeal to discerning customers looking for eco-conscious yet stylish menswear.
Holloway’s styling revolves around classic layering and high-collared silhouettes, incorporating a mix of turtlenecks, ascots, bowties, and thin scarves. This innovative use of accessories creates dynamic looks that are both functional and stylish, setting a new benchmark in modern menswear while paying homage to traditional design elements.
Vintage-inspired elements such as driving gloves and elegant cigar robes add a distinctive touch, reinforcing Holloway’s aristocratic inspiration and honoring the house codes established by Alfred Dunhill over a century ago. These accessories not only accentuate the collection’s refined aesthetic but also resonate with fashion enthusiasts who value a deep connection to heritage.
The closing section of the show featured striking formal evening wear looks in a sophisticated palette of black and white, enhanced by emerald, plaid, and merlot accents. Cummerbunds embroidered with the letters “A D” paid tribute to the brand’s founder, encapsulating the enduring legacy of Dunhill in a modern context.
With one of the strongest collections emerging from Milan this season, it is almost hard to believe that this is only Simon Holloway's third collection at the 130-year-old fashion house. As the industry continues to search for visionary creative directors, Holloway’s ability to merge traditional menswear with innovative design strategies sets a new standard in luxury fashion.
