FASHION SHOWRUNWAY REVIEW

Mike Amiri channels the golden era of 1970s Hollywood for his Fall 2025 collection, drawing inspiration from the decadence of LA’s disco scene—a pivotal moment in American fashion history.

Retro silhouettes are reimagined with a modern edge, emphasizing bold colors, rich textures, and intricate embellishments tailored for today’s luxury consumer.

Leather takes center stage, appearing in tailored outerwear, printed trousers, pencil skirts, neckties, and duffle bags adorned with gold hardware. Meanwhile, floral embroidery and crystal embellishments amplify the collection’s opulence, elevating classic menswear with gold accents like cufflinks, tie clips, and gilded roses.

Glittery knitwear—from sheer cardigans to crocheted maxi dresses—adds to the collection’s over-the-top aesthetic. While this could easily verge on “douchey,” somehow, it just works here.

Take this standout look, for example: an effortlessly cool ensemble built around an intricately detailed jacket—a statement piece most men might hesitate to wear, yet here, it feels natural and confident.

Whether intentional or not, the collection makes a strong case that blurring gender lines in fashion is nothing new. Amiri’s stylistic choices highlight the gender-fluid appeal of retro fashion, subtly pushing back against the revisionist sterilization of the past.

Once again, the outerwear steals the show—with structured blazers, luxurious knits, double-breasted suits, and an array of leather pieces featuring embossed textures, glossy finishes, and intricate studding.

For those unfamiliar with Amiri’s evolution, it’s remarkable how the brand has grown from a grungy streetwear label into a global luxury powerhouse. This transformation is fueled by Mike Amiri’s relentless drive to push both himself and his brand forward. And for a self-made designer to reach these heights without the backing of a major luxury conglomerate? Clearly, he’s doing something right.
